JOB DESCRIPTION
BlaBlaCar is currently building an additional development team in Warsaw. Attached to a local Tech Manager you will work in Scrum methodology in a small and efficient team, on the same projects as the other Tech teams in Paris and Bucharest. Thus you will join our fine crew of web engineers and become a part of our highly skilled Tech team. After an onboarding period at our headquarters in Paris, you will work at our Warsaw office with other developers on further improving our platform. “Done is better than perfect” is one of our slogans, understanding this and being capable of integrating yourself into a demanding environment of equally skilled developers will be key to your success within the team. We use Jira but also we have some cool real ticketing boards, we write test, use GIT, code review and we push daily to production.
QUALIFICATIONS
You feel at home in the world of PHP5.4+ and are at ease with Symfony2 - reasonable professional experience with our framework of choice is a big plus. You have worked with at least two other major technologies that are part of BlaBlaCar’s technology stack; such as RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, MySQL, memcached or Redis.
You know exactly how to build and deploy an application that runs reliably even under heavy load.
You are eager to learn new things and to share your skills with the other team members.
You are a team player and know how to embrace the power that scrum assigns to developers - dealing with non-technical people such as the product owner is not new to you. Always the big picture in mind you are able to help shift our technical choices in the right direction and to offer new solutions if required.
Having some cool projects on GitHub and/or having participated at tech conferences/meetups is a plus.
Last but not least you should have a favorite beer, a solid choice that you can explain and defend equally well in English and Polish, even after several of them

Salary : 8 000 - 12 000zl gross /month (depending on the contract)
