PHP Application Developer

Location - Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK
Salary - from £25k to £45k basic, plus stock options

The Position

As an OEM provider of call center technology our success depends on the reliability and ease-of-use of our software. We seek a software developer who is self-motivated, and passionate about software development. This role will require the ability to learn quickly, to implement software with an emphasis on quality, and to communicate well with the rest of the development team and with customers.

Your responsibilities will be to maintain and improve all areas of our web front end. You will also play a key role in implementing the user interface and middle layers of the remainder of our front end web technology. You will be required to work very closely with our software architect and UI developer, and you will report directly to our Software Development Manager.

You will be working with our Development team of very experienced and focussed developers and support staff in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to hone your skills in a company where technical excellence is the norm. You may be asked to be involved in the support side of the business for a period to familiarise with our software suite more efficiently.

The role will be based at our offices in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will exhibit the following qualities and skills as a minimum:

Web app development using PHP 5, HTML, Javascript, CSS, XML
Strong English oral and written communication skills.
Excellent team working skills
A demonstrable record of achievement in either previous position(s), or academic work.

One or more of the additional skills would also be beneficial:

Degree in relevant discipline
MongoDB, Node.Js
Experience with ExtJS
Web service development preferably with REST paradigm
Apache configuration experience or use of LAMP/WAMP
PHP framework experience with e.g. Zend or Symfony
