zastanawiałem się w którym temacie napisać ale moje pytanie raczej do gotowych rozwiązań się nie nadaje.

Otóż:
W Wordpressie można sobie ustawić format linków w panelu administratora;
np zakładka ustawienia-> linki stałe -> wpisujemy własną konfiguracje np: "/%postname%/" i cieszymy się linkami domena.pl/nazwa-posta/

Skrypt edytuje w bazie wp_options -> option_name -> permalink_structure i wpisuje tam wartość podaną w panelu administratora np: "/%postname%/"

W praktyce wygląda to tak ze jak w bazie zmienimy ręcznie wp_options -> option_name -> permalink_structure z "/%postname%/" na "/%postname%.php"
to system owszem będzie linkował do domena.pl/nazwa-posta.php ale nie czyta tych zmiennych,
czyta dalej domena.pl/nazwa-posta/

Nie orientuje się ktoś z was gdzie WP zapisuje jeszcze informacje o zmienię formatu linków?

W bazie wp_options -> option_name jest jeszcze wartość "_transient_rewrite_rules"która ma taki oto wygląd:
jest to zwykła tablica, dla przykładu ustawiłem linki z poziomu admina na "%postname%.php--"

Jeżeli usuniemy to Pole Wp je sam doda ponownie, sprawdza za każdym razem czy jest jak nie ma aktualizuje....
Próbowałem wyłączyć aktualizacje to wtedy woogóle nic nie czyta.
A zapis danych za każdym razem jest złym rozwiązaniem ponieważ wykonywane jest zapytanie kolejne.

Czy ktoś już przechodził przez funkcjonalność linków?
